Bear Lake

After our adventures at the less than stellar reservoir of American Falls, we knew we had to make a trip to Bear Lake to play at a real beach this summer. Last week was one of the few weekends we didn't have plans, so to Bear Lake we went. It was a long drive from Pocatello through back roads, the kids asked a dozen times if we were there yet. We finally reached the lake only to realize that it was Raspberry Days and therefore, a PACKED beach. That was lame... but we found a little spot we could play and had a great time anyway.

Snorkeling

JD and Katie met us up there and the kids loved playing with them.

Katie's masterpiece.

After we played at the beach for a few hours, we went to find raspberry shakes. It's just not a complete summer for me unless I have had a raspberry shake from Bear Lake.  The kids had a ball on these signs outside of the restaurant.

We reluctantly said goodbye to JD and Katie, as well as Bear Lake. JD starts medical school at the University of Utah in a few days and we might not see him as often. And Bear Lake, unfortunately we won't see that place for another year. Sadness.
