Olivia turned 6 on August 17. Crazy. We had friends visiting from Logan that weekend so they helped us celebrate. Olivia was thrilled because Jonah was one of her best buds. Here are pictures of her opening presents...
Gotta love sweet little Sammy getting in the picture.
Olivia really wanted the book "The Story about Ping." I thought she meant, "Pingo." She seemed happy anyway. :)
She wanted a bug cake this year. So I crushed up some oreos, added a few gummy worms, and voila!
It was a pretty low-key birthday. I wasn't feeling well that weekend so I didn't go as elaborate as I usually do, but she had a good time anyway. The next day, we went to the mall and got her ears pierced as our gift to her. She was so brave, didn't even cry. My baby is growing up.
In keeping with tradition this year, I thought I'd write 6 things I love about Olivia...
1: She is a sweetheart. She loves everybody and never fights with her friends. I never have to worry about her misbehaving in school or anywhere. If anyone knows Olivia, I bet the first thing they would say about her is that she is sweet. She's very soft spoken and doesn't complain... except to me.
2: She loves animals, bugs, and getting her hands dirty. She isn't afraid of spiders, snakes, nothing. In fact, I had to tell her not to pick up spiders because sometimes they bite. I think she thinks she is the animal whisperer, because she loves playing with animals and always remarks on how much they love her.
3: She's smart. When she was a baby, I taught her dozens of baby signs. She started talking really early and sang full songs at age 2. She loves to read and does well in school.
4: She has a great sense of adventure. She loves to camp, hike, fish, and explore. She's always outside playing and always willing to try new things. Her favorite food is sushi and she'll try all sorts of crazy foods.
5: She's beautiful. I may be biased, but she is one gorgeous little girl in my eyes. She has the prettiest blue eyes I've ever seen.
6: She's incredibly giving. She shares EVERYTHING with her brother and sister. She saves things for me at school that she thinks I will like... snacks at school, etc. She loves to pick out presents for people and draw them pictures and make them smile. She says sweet things like, "I am feeling happy inside..." when she does something right.
