Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

Millie got a visit from my favorite Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. We opened our Christmas Eve present from my mom... matching PJs for all of us! Then we headed to my aunt Christy's house for prime rib dinner. It was sooo yummy.

After dinner, we went upstairs to plan our annual Christmas Eve program. This year's program featured cello tunes from Andrew, a duet with Andrew and Liv, an awesome musical number by some of the boys of O come, O come, Emmanuel, and lots of songs with the girls.

After the program, we all sat down for the annual story read by Opa.

Grandpa's story is a highlight of the night... as you can tell from all the videos of it.

Millie was sure to let us know that it was time to be quiet!

And if that didn't work, she would cover your mouth for you. Hahaha.

The next morning, we all woke up at about 5am and started opening presents. Andrew got a remote control helicopter (which has become Ben's favorite toy), Battleship and Cut the Rope, legos, and Zoobs. Olivia got magnatiles, Hedbanz and Spot It, shoes, hello kitty dishes, and clothes. Millie's first gift was a princess dress, which she wore the rest of the day. She also got a princess castle, a cute board game called Sneaky Snacky Squirrel, a new doll, and a magna doodle.

Ben surprised me with a new coat. I got him some new clothes and a game. My sister helped the kids make ornaments of their hand prints for me.
We drove back to Logan the next day and I took my Christmas tree down last night. Usually I am happy to be taking the tree down and have my house back, but this year I was a little sad. It went by way too fast. Merry Christmas!

Pre-Christmas Festivities

December is a busy month around here and this year was no different. I made a list of everything I wanted to do and then put each thing on a different day on the calendar until it was completely filled. Needless to say, we did too much. Next year, I need to cool it a little. We went to the Tabernacle and listened to the bell choir, which was awesome! We also went to The Christmas Carol play put on by Four Seasons Theater company. It was Andrew and Liv's first play and they loved it. We had movie nights, game nights, delivered treats. I didn't get pictures of everything we did, but here are a few more highlights...

Ward Party 2013, they had a cute photo booth this year.

Olivia's Kindergarten concert... so cute. Andrew was the proud brother, stepping over everyone to get pictures closer up.

Visits to Santa at the mall.

This year's movie party was The Grinch! My neighbor Melanie and I made a dinner with who-pudding, grinch kabobs, who-hash, and rare roast beast. We played pin the heart on the grinch, musical chairs, and watched the movie while sipping on grinch punch. The kids had so much fun. I like this Christmas movie tradition.

The day after the Grinch party, we headed to Duchesne to stay with my grandparents. On Christmas Eve, the kids and I made our gingerbread house. I decided to stop being a control freak and let them decorate most of it themselves. Yay for me! It turned out super cute.

Thanksgiving 2013

We spent Thanksgiving with Ben's family in Duchesne this year. It was lots of fun. Ben and I made five pies for the meal: apple, coconut cream, two pumpkin, and pecan. The coconut cream pie was amazing, if I do say so myself. We got some family pictures taken, played games, went to see Hunger Games and Thor in the theater, and all the girls dipped chocolates a couple days after Thanksgiving.

Ben sure knows when to take the picture... like when I'm scowling.

I got to play with Sunny's baby while we were there. I just love her chubby little cheeks.

Andrew and Olivia got lots of quality Sean, Breanna, and their dog time. :) My kids are dying to have a dog.

Ben and his parent's dog are enemies. I don't know how I got this picture.

Family pictures with the Maretts and my mom and sister.

We went to visit Oma and Opa Thanksgiving morning. Andrew and Ben got to ride the crazy jeep thing... not sure it's actual name.

Andrew got to spend one night with my cousin Peyton at Oma's house. He was thrilled to have his first sleepover with a friend!
