Stitches

Summer Adventure #3

What would summer be without an ER visit? Well we got to take a "fun" little trip there in the middle of the night a couple weeks ago. Andrew was running around like a crazy person (anyone surprised?), when he tripped and hit his head on the corner of Ben's parent's stone fireplace. We drove to the closest Emergency Room, which was 30 miles away, and sat there for a good 3 hours before finally being seen! It was unbelievable but apparently everyone was in crisis that night. All things considered, Andrew was very brave and only screamed bloody murder a couple times... :) He seemed completely thrilled by the time we left though because he got 3 booklets of stickers, two bottles of bubbles, and a stuffed animal. This ER gives parting gifts, it's awesome! Here are some pictures of his battle wounds.

Just for fun, the story from Andrew's perspective went something like this... "I fell and hit my head and it was bleeding, bleeding, bleeding on my face! Grant grabbed me and ran fast, fast, fast and he got blood on his fingers and he was holding me and I was crying, Waahhh! And I got seven stitches in my face!" He was showing his stitches to a group of girls and they said, "Whoa!" He just smiled. I guess some things are worth the pain.

4th of July

Summer Adventure #2

We had quite the eventful 4th of July! It seems that that holiday is always crazy in my family. It started early for everyone in the house but me and the kids when they headed down to cook for the fourth of July town breakfast. In my family, it's pretty much a given that you are an unofficial member of the Lion's Club. :) So everyone is recruited to help cook and clean up.

Me and the kids finally made our debut about 8am and enjoyed a fabulous breakfast.

The kids had a ton of fun playing at the park, but the highlight of the afternoon was when Andrew decided to drop his pants and pee right on main street in front of everyone. Such a proud moment for me... NOT!

We then watched the short little parade and got some candy. This is a picture of Olivia sitting on all her goodies. If anyone came near, she made it VERY clear they weren't to touch it.

My family goes to the lake every 4th of July so we headed down there for some fun in the sun... and wind. :)

We ended the day by lighting off little fireworks with the kids and finally the giant fireworks for the town. I tried to post a video of those but I am incompetent when it comes to using video on this blog... pictures will have to do for now. Happy 4th!

Dinosaur Museum

Summer Adventure # 1
My aunt Christy came up with a fun idea to go to the dinosaur museum in Vernal last week. Since I had never been before, it really was quite the adventure. Andrew had so much fun and was totally amazed by all the things we saw.
Andrew & Cassidy posing by the bear.

Can you see little tiny Andrew below that huge dinosaur?

It was quite the challenge getting Andrew to sit still and look at things for longer than 30 seconds. Good thing we were in a hurry anyway.

Here is my future paleontologist digging up some dinosaur bones.

A cute pic of Emily, Cassidy, and Andrew in front of the mammoth.

Andrew really liked this guy.

Can you tell?

"Hey he's smiling!"

We practically ran through the entire museum because of Andrew's attention span but he was really sad to go. I think he wanted to go back through and see it all again but we were all ready for a nap.
