Baby turns ONE!

Well my baby turned ONE... how is it possible that in just one year she could go from this...

To this... I love her cheesy smiles.

We celebrated by taking her out for her first bite of fish egg sushi! Just kidding, she ate rice. :)

A lot of our family braved the snowy roads to be there for her birthday party the next day. We celebrated at Casper's Malt Shoppe in Providence. My sister and I made Millie's yummy applesauce cake and the cupcakes for everyone else.

She got spoiled with loads of fun toys, shoes, a hat, and a headband. She would look at the cards for about two seconds and then drop them on the ground. Her brother and sister were happy to commandeer anything she didn't hold onto for dear life.

Then it was time for cake! I had been waiting for this moment for months! Andrew and Livy weren't big cake eaters for their birthday, but Millie LOVES to eat so I was hoping she would dig in. At first she was a little shy.

I helped her out a bit.

Then she went crazy. Her foot seemed to have a mind of its own. It would hover around the cake while she ate. Too funny!

My grandma and great grandma.

No birthday is complete without a little ice cream.

This is what her cake looked like in the end.  It was so fun to watch her go crazy for it. Thank goodness I made a "healthy" cake despite my sister's teasing! She almost ate the whole thing!

I feel so blessed to have Amelia. She's such a comfort to me, always happy and smiling. She definitely knows how to brighten a room and I love her personality. I'm sad to have her already be entering the toddler years! I love the baby stage, especially with an easy-going baby. I'm sure I'll love the toddler times just as much though. We love you Millie! Happy Birthday!

Sledding

We make a habit of sledding down Old Main at least once a year. It's so much fun! The crazy weather lately had me wondering if we would get enough snow to do it, but a few weeks ago we got a nice storm and plenty of snow. Thankfully it was during the break so Ben could come with us.

This picture is of Ben, Olivia, and Andrew... can you see him? :) Snow got kicked up into Liv's face and...

...this was the result. One extremely grumpy girl.

After that, I forced her to take a run with me and tried to go really slow and careful.

This was her face after that... :) Night and day right? She's a girl, can you tell?

Andrew is happy no matter what happens.

Liv finally trusted Ben to take her again but she closed her eyes the entire time.

Andrew was begging to go faster and laughed the entire way down.

When we put the two of them on together, Liv reverted back to her original grumpy mood.

Finally Amelia went for a ride with us.

Love her! We served up some hot chocolate and headed home. A perfect winter afternoon.

Resolutions...

Yay for 2012! I love the start of a new year. For me, 2011 will forever be the year of Amelia. I looked at my goals from last year and I didn't accomplish any of them aside from Ben graduating and surviving three children. Ha, I survived! It's a miracle! I would like to do a little more than survive in 2012 though so here are a few of my goals...

1: Take 12 credit hours... no not in one semester, I mean the whole year! That may seem like easy peasy but I haven't managed to take more than one class a semester since Amelia was born. I gotta get brave one of these semesters this year though if I'm to accomplish that goal.

2: Have someone over for dinner once a month... with Ben's crazy schedule of always being gone, I have turned into somewhat of a recluse. It's lame and I'm lonely a great deal of the time so I'm coming out of my shell!

3: Attend the temple EVERY month... I'm ashamed to admit that I wasn't as dedicated in this department last year. Especially living in Duchesne... phew kudos to everyone that drives so far to go each month! I have no excuse.

4: Exercise regularly and run a 5K. I was going to really go out on a whim and say run a 1/2 marathon, which is what I would ultimately want to do, BUT baby steps. I also need to get in shape because another one of my goals is to go hiking in the Uintahs with Ben this summer.

5: Post at least once a month on my crafty blog... yeah remember that project I started? I've been slacking big time.

6: Pay off our van and over half of our student loans.

7: Read my scriptures every day and have FHE every week. This one will be a challenge because I'll have to do FHE without Ben but I'm determined!

8: Give each of the kids 15 minutes one-on-one time every day. It may seem easy but this can really be hard when they all want my attention at the same time, which is usually how it is.

Well there are a few of my resolutions for 2012. I'm really excited for this year, I think it's going to be a good one! Did anyone else make resolutions? If so, what are they?
