Life in Idaho!

Well we moved to Idaho! And I had A LOT of catching up to do on this blog. Ben got a job with Keller Associates in Pocatello as a civil engineer and we are so excited to start our post-school life! We are renting a cute house in Chubbuck with a great big yard complete with a pear tree, grapes, a fire pit, garden,  and tons of trees. It's heaven. The wind blows a lot, but there are no mosquitos. Our neighbors next door are some of the nicest people we've met and our ward seems great. We already have to speak in church this Sunday, yikes! Here is what happened the first couple weeks...

Ben's parents and a lot of my family came up to help us move. It was also Ben's dad's birthday, so we bought him dinner and a cake to make it worth his while.

We built a fire pit on some dirt in our yard and have been out roasting marshmallows a lot.

I planted tomatoes and peppers in the front yard. As well as basil, thyme, and rosemary.

And Ben and the kids planted corn, peas, beans, and squash in the back.  Hopefully it grows, it's very shaded back there.

We went on a lot of drives around Pocatello and found the prettiest area, Inkom. I wish we could move there.

Ben is doing well at work. We couldn't ask for a better company. His boss and co-workers are great. He came home with these spiffy business cards.

I haven't taken any pictures of the inside yet, but here are some pictures of our backyard. I love it so much. It makes up for the quirks in the old house.

So far, life here is pretty good. It's hard to compare to Logan, but we like it. We found the library and a good grocery store. We are slowly learning how to drive on one-way roads. It's great living so close to my grandparents and not too far from Duchesne. There are lots of parks around us for the kids to play in. I think it's going to be a good place for us.

Week 1 in Idaho

Ben started his job, but our house in Chubbuck wasn't available yet, so we stayed in Idaho Falls with my grandparents for a week. It was lots of fun.

Here is Ben on his first day! He thought I was a dork for taking a picture but oh well.

The kids and I walked to the park and made crowns out of willows.

We went to another park the next day.

We visited my great grandma's grave and picked flowers from her own garden for it.

We went out for ice cream. Millie was a grouch.

Went to a petting zoo.

And took walks with Oma.

So thankful they let us stay with them!

Friends

The week before we left Logan, we ran all over town to say goodbye to our friends. It was a really hard week for me, filled with lots of tears! As happy as I am to get a job, I am so sad to leave. We have met some of the best people in Logan.

Here we are with my old high school friend, Ben Farnsworth, and his wife Elaine. We had a BBQ with them at their home in Hyrum.

Girls night with all my besties from Logan 5th ward. We went out for donuts at Johnny O's and talked until late in the night. Megan, Lisa, Michelle, Aubrey, Abby, and Melanie. So many memories with these gals.

Andrew said goodbye to his cello teacher with this adorable card.

Abby and I at our last yoga class.

We ran up to Smithfield to say goodbye to our friends from 23rd ward, Mindy and Randall Davis.

The night before we left, I went out for pie with Abby, Melanie, and Heidi. Heidi missed out on our girls night so I was happy she could come to this!

The afternoon that we packed up and cleaned with some of the guys and one last picture with Megan D.

I snapped a few shots of us driving into Pocatello. Don't mind the bugs on the windshield, kinda nasty but whatever.

We have loved Logan so much. All my kids were born there, we went through the temple there, and we met so many great people. They better all come to visit! :)

Kindergarten Graduation

Olivia graduated from Kindergarten! I can't believe how grown up she is. She has loved Kindergarten and of course her teachers are the best ever! They were Andrew's teachers last year. This year they did a big program in the new section of the school that was built. It was really nice.

Throwing her cap.

I admit I was crying a little as we said goodbye to these teachers, especially since we knew we were not coming back next year. They've done so much for Andrew and Olivia and I couldn't have asked for better teachers. I couldn't hardly tell them that because I'm a big baby and cry all the time.

Olivia and her best friends this year... Stella.

Eve.

Jonah. Also the person she plans to marry. :)

Congratulations Girlie!

Class Parties

It was a week filled with crazy hair, games, and food for the kids last days of school. They did so well this year in school. Olivia learned to read and is getting better every day. Andrew won the spelling bee in his class and learned multiplication already. They got all As on their report card. I was one proud mama. They deserved some fun with classmates.

Millie's Graduation!

Millie graduated from preschool! Me and four other moms rotated teaching. We had a party to celebrate. There were games, food, and lots of fun.
