Well today is Ben and I's 4 year anniversary! Phew, time has just flown by. I can't believe how much has changed since we first got married. Our first year of marriage was pretty rough... for Ben more than me I think. I couldn't cook to save my life, I was pregnant, yeah not so pleasant. By the time our first anniversary rolled around all we wanted to do was take a nap. Things have gotten much better since then. We have finally started to figure each other out. Today I spent the day without Ben... :( He had school and work and won't get home till ten tonight so we are celebrating tomorrow instead. As lame as it is to spend your anniversary with your kids, I honestly think this is the best one yet. Ben and I are much closer now than we ever have been. Not a day goes by... okay very few days go by... when I don't think about how lucky I am to have such a funny, honest, hardworking, considerate, and good-looking husband! Happy Anniversary Benny!
To fill the loneliness... I took a trip down memory lane. This is what was happening four years ago today.

This month is also the same month we had our first date... SEVEN years ago. Yowzaa, that is weird. Here is a pic of Ben and I at a dance in 2003.

Pumpkins... and dinner.
For FHE yesterday, we carved our pumpkins. Andrew and Olivia didn't care too much about it but Ben and I had a blast and want to get more pumpkins. We got some ideas off Martha Stewart. Ben carved the cat and I carved the M, for Megan... just kidding, for Marett.
Andrew was pretty freaked out to put his hand in but finally did it and pulled some seeds out, he mostly wanted to just stab the pumpkin with tools.
Livy all ready for Halloween in her cute outfit.
Ben helping poke holes in my "Megan" pumpkin. :)
I finally got Olivia to come look inside one.
Our finished product. I am so excited for Halloween this year.
On a different note... I tried out a new recipe last night and it was delish so I had to share. Here is the link, sorry we ate it too fast for pictures.

Olivia's Crazy Sleeping Patterns
This was Olivia one minute...
And before I knew it, she looked like this...
This girl falls asleep in the craziest places and positions. I looked through my pics from the past few months and found all these funny ones of her.
PS- I realize some, if not all, of these pictures have been used in posts previous... Enjoy X2.

Fall fun
We decided it was time to get out and do something fun to celebrate the fall so we met some friends at the American West Heritage Center and had lots of fun. When we first got there we ran over to watch them make Apple Cider. Andrew got to pick some apples and put it in. It was really pretty cool to watch. Although Andrew was more obsessed with the train going by to care. Needless to say we went to the train next...
Andrew grinning on his train ride. He loved it.
After the train we went over to pet the little baby goats. They were so adorable. Olivia was absolutely enthralled and giggled the entire time. She screamed when we pulled her away finally. Andrew only said, "Smells stinky" and pet one goat.
After the goats, we went over to the corn maze and got successfully lost. But we found our way through eventually. Andrew had a good time jumping out and scaring us all. He even took home a souvenir.(see above picture) When we finally finished the corn maze we went over to slide down this huge slide which looked scary but went too slow. So us adults had to improvise. (Sorry Abby, I had to post this cute pic of you)
Before we left Andrew got to ride a pony and we went on the train once more. We were all freezing by that time so we headed for home. It was a ton of fun, I would like to go again sometime when its a little warmer.
In other news, our first day at our new ward was yesterday. It went really well. I think we will like being in that ward.

Being Poor...
I just got back from a tap dance performance for one of my classes. It was really cool and lots of fun but seriously... those tight nose bleed seats were almost too much to handle. I felt so bad for our friend who is a foot taller than me. It got me thinking... Being poor is seriously LAME! Tight nose bleed seats, running to catch the bus before it leaves my behind, begging my family and friends to babysit because I can't afford $4 an hour teenagers, sifting through piles of clothes at DI for some stinkin 4T size pants for Andrew (no such luck, by the way)... Seriously we have it really good and I am so grateful for all that we have. I think my mother has bought the majority of Andrew and Olivia's wardrobes... but ONE DAY... I really hope I can just buy the nice front row seats, I hope I can leave 15 minutes before class instead of taking an hour and a half bus ride. I hope I can afford to tip my nice babysitters. I really hope I can one day pick out clothes for my kids myself. Although my mom really does do a good job of picking stuff out. :)
As much as I want all this stuff, I wouldn't trade all the lessons I have learned from being poor and I certainly wouldn't want to go into debt to have it all either. These past few "poor" years have really taught me some humility. One of my funniest memories is when my grandpa gave me a pan he found from DI before I went to college. My first thought was... "Are you kidding? It's from DI... gross." (I know, it's really embarrassing how bratty I was) Well we have now had that pan for 5 years and honestly it is my favorite pan and I will never get rid of it. Sure I will toss all my other ugly pans with teflon flakes but nope not this one. I learned to cook with this pan. Maybe I will hang it on my wall as a reminder of... 1) It doesn't matter where things come from, sometimes they are just good no matter what. 2) Just because it's old and has a little dirt doesn't mean its useless. and... 3) DI has some good stuff! :) My last shopping experience there produced 8 beautiful little plates for desserts, a pair of practically new dress shoes for Liv, and 2 pairs of nice pants for Ben... and a shirt he picked out that is not my favorite so I don't count it.
Take Joy in the Journey... I just gotta keep telling myself that.

Fall is here!
Well fall is officially here and it is freezing outside already! :( Ben's parents and sister came out last weekend for conference and we canned all day long. We did spaghetti sauce, catsup, apple juice, and apple butter. It was a long day! I am not a big fan of canning but with help it goes by fast and I am starting to actually enjoy it now. Ben and I are going to try relish next.
This has nothing to do with my post, it's just Andrew and his friend Kenzie being cute.
PS- DOES ANYONE READ THIS BLOG ANYMORE? I have only got one comment in about five posts... just wondering if going private made it too hard to read mine now or what.
